I have a new article from the Washington Observer, dated 1942, which describes the accident which killed my uncle and Grandon. A partial transcription of the article follows:
"Three were killed, two instantly, in an here early Sunday

Leeper died of a fractured skull in Washington Hospital Sunday am, less than four hours after the automobile he was operating into an east-bound street car in West Chestnut Street, the resulting in instant death to Grandon and the Wottell boy, and injuries to three of four other occupants of the machine...
Admitted to Washington Hospital for treatment were Mrs. Quinn, 57, of Canton, O., grandmother of Robert Wottell and an Charles Grandon; Edward Grandon, 36, of Washington, a cousin dead man, and Miss Susanna Grimm, 39, of Washington. Mary eight year old sister of Robert, escaped injury....
Authorities, who are continuing their investigation into the said Mrs. Quinn, her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Wottell, and the two children had been visiting at the home of Charles Grandon, employed on the farm of Thomas E. Knox, of Buffalo
Josephine Quinn's maiden name was Dardinger, and her sister in Washington.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the army as a private, Headquarters Co., I. R. P. C.
He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy Rush, whom he 1930; a daughter, Mrs. David (Nancy) Johnson, Huron; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kentosh, Mansfield; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two
